More pink will be seen around campus during October. LSU is making an extra effort to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The UREC is hosting a one-mile victory walk will leave from the UREC at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. It will proceed down victory hill to the PMAC.
The walk will be led by LSU Dean of students Dr. KC White. White is in the last stage of breast cancer chemotherapy.
Following the walk, LSU Lady Tiger Volleyball team will dig for a cure in the PMAC as they take on Arkansas at 7 p.m.
And if you’re headed to the UREC, you can log miles on the pink treadmill.
For each mile, ten cents will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Dr. White says it doesn’t have to be October for students to get involved and support breast cancer awareness.
“You can continue to read, to be aware, to make sure you are making healthy decisions as it impacts your life,” said White.
Individuals must register for the walk at UREC Guest services. There is a minimum donation of ten dollars.
