(AP) — Community Coffee Co. agreed Tuesday to settle allegations of hiring discrimination and pay $190,000 to 1,100 minority applicants. The company did not agree to the allegations, saying it decided to settle to avoid a costly legal fight. The complaint by the federal Labor Department alleged discrimination in the rejection of 1,148 minority applicants for the position of barista at CC’s Coffee stores.
