LSU infielder and left fielder Ryan Schimpf has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays and will forego his senior season with the Tigers, ESPN.com reported Friday.The Blue Jays selected Schimpf in the fifth round of June’s draft. Schimpf’s LSU teammate first baseman and catcher Sean Ochinko has already signed with Toronto and will skip his own senior season.Outfielder Jared Mitchell, a first-round pick by the Chicago White Sox, will skip his senior season, and infielder DJ LeMahieu, a second-round choice by the Chicago Cubs, will forfeit both his junior and senior campaigns to begin his professional career.Designated hitter Blake Dean will return for a senior season with the Tigers.—-Contact The Daily Reveille sports staff at [email protected]
