And defensive end Tyson Jackson and linebacker Darry Beckwith were both named to the 2008 first-team.All six players have gone on to sign with NFL times.Senior defensive lineman Charles Alexander and junior safety Chad Jones lead the Tigers’ defensive honors this season as second-team members.Alexander hopes to bounce back from struggles with injuries the last two years, while Jones will start the 2009 football season fresh off his College World Series championship with the LSU baseball team.Jones and former LSU wide receiver and outfielder Jared Mitchell became the first two players to win both a BCS national championship and a College World Series with the baseball national championship victory in June.Senior wide receiver Brandon Lafell was named to the second-team offense after deciding to return for one more season at LSU.
