University Student Recreational Complex will begin its Pink Ribbon Run for breast cancer awareness month Sept. 29, at 3:30 p.m. at the UREC, according to a University press release.K.C. White, dean of students and interim vice chanellor of student life, is currently undergoing the final rounds of treatment for breast cancer. She will be featured in the ceremony as a proud survivor of breast cancer, the press release said.The UREC joined the Pink Ribbon Run by purchasing a CYBEX pink treadmill. CYBEX will donate 10 cents to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every mil logged on the pink treadmill during the month of October, the press release said.The CYBEX pink treadmill will be located in the UREC cardio, weight and fitness room, the press release said.The UREC will also host a “Victory Walk” on Oct. 16, at 5:30 p.m. The proceeds of the walk will be donated to the Baton Rouge affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, the press release said.
