HOT BOX DORM ROOM BUSTED
After receiving complaints from residents in McVoy Hall of a strange odor, LSUPD officers  responded to the room of Michael Gravolet, 19-year-old student of 1420 Beverly Garden Road, Metairie.
Around 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9,   Gravolet and another male student opened the door for the officers.
Rogé said the officers smelled marijuana smoke and informed the students of their rights.
He said Gravolet then emptied his pockets of approximately 2 grams of marijuana and a blue pipe.
Rogé said Gravolet admitted the drugs and paraphernalia were his and the other student wasn’t involved.
Gravolet was issued a summons for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
MAN CAUGHT WITH HUBCAPS
On Sept 12., LSUPD responded to reports of a suspicious person in the Kirby Smith parking lot around 7 p.m.
Officers saw Charles Brown, a 55-year-old with no given address, on a bike inside the lot. Rogé said he had been peering into car windows.
Rogé said Brown had no identification and gave his name as Charles Jones. Rogé said he also told them he was born in 1953.
Officers discovered a screwdriver in his left pants pocket after a pat-down. They also discovered hubcaps taken from Ford trucks in his backpack, Rogé said.
Brown was taken to the Public Safety Building where officers ran his fingerprints and identified him as Charles Brown, born in 1952.
Brown was issued a summons for possession of stolen items, possession of burglary tools and misrepresentation during booking procedures. Rogé said he was also banned from campus.
 
2 BEERS, NO WAIT, 2 KEGS
Around 5 p.m. Saturday, John Draper, a 23-year-old unaffiliated with the University of 1701 Lobdale Ave., was arrested for disturbing the peace with public drunkeness.
While trying to cross a crowded campus road outside the crosswalk, Rogé said an LSUPD officer and a Baton Rouge constable officer both riding bikes informed Draper he was in danger of being hit.
Rogé said Draper cursed at the officers and continued to walk across the street.
Rogé said the officers tried to stop Draper, but “Draper’s foot hit the officer’s tire, and Draper flopped on the ground and started yelling.”
Draper was not injured, and Rogé said he appeared drunk.
When asked if he was drunk, Rogé said Draper initially told the officers he had only had two beers. Rogé said he then told them he had “drank two kegs.”
Draper was brought back to the Public Safety Building and issued a court summons. He was then released to a sober friend who brought him off campus.
 
STUDENT BREAKS WINDOW WITH FIST, BLEEDS
On Sept. 12 around 10 p.m., LSUPD officers responded to a call about a medical emergency from Blake Hall.
Workers noticed Daniel Dixon, an 18-year-old student of 2209 Bayou Court, Keller Tx., had entered the dorm bleeding. Rogé said Dixon did not respond to questions from the residential adviser.
When the officers arrived, Rogé said they followed a trail of blood to Dixon’s dorm room. When he did not answer, the RA’s opened the door.
Rogé said the officers found Dixon asleep in his bed with a deep laceration on his right hand.
Officers called for the emergency medical services which came and treated his hand.
Rogé said Dixon was drunk and told officers he had punched a window near the Laville dorms.
The Office Facility Services found a broken window with blood on it on the east side of the French House and sealed it.
Dixon was charged with simple criminal damage to property and was released.
 
DRUNK TAILGATER CHUCKS BRANCH AT CAR
Matthew Haney, a 20-year-old unaffiliated with the University from 12224 Bell Meadow, Denham Springs, was arrested for disturbing the peace by public drunkenness Saturday during the game.
Officers responded to a call on Tower Drive near the Swine Palace Theater that a drunk tailgater was throwing tree limbs at cars, Rogé said.
When they arrived, Rogé said the officers saw no damage to vehicles, but noticed Haney had slurred speech and was stumbling.
He was taken to the Public Safety Building and issued a summons before being released to a sober friend.
 
54-YEAR-OLD PEEKS IN ICE CHESTS, CREEPS OUT TAILGATERS
Willie M. Bush, a 54-year-old from 769 W. McKinley St., was arrested for public intoxication Saturday around 8:30 p.m.
LSUPD was informed that a man whose appearance matched Bush’s was looking inside multiple tailgaters’ ice chests, Rogé said.
Rogé said when Bush was questioned, he became loud and belligerent. Rogé said Bush had no identification and only gave the officers the name “Mike Bush.”
Bush was taken to parish prison because he gave a false name and was booked for public drunkennes as “John Doe a.k.a Mike Bush,” according to Rogé.
Bush gave his name to the parish prison the next day, Rogé said.
 
TO DRINK ALL DAY, START IN THE MORNING
Kenneth Harrison, a 31-year-old unaffiliated with the University from 6931 Victoria Gardens Ct., was arrested Sept. 11 for DWI.
Harrison was seen driving a white truck on campus around 10 a.m.
Rogé said officers noticed a rejected inspection sticker and followed Harrison.
Rogé said the officers saw Harrison straddling the white line and abruptly change lanes in traffic.
Once he had been pulled over, Rogé said the officers could smell alcohol on Harrison’s person and observed a passenger with an open 24-ounce beer can.
Rogé said a partially spilt 24-ounce can was on the floor of the truck.
Harrison was taken back to the Public Safety Building where Rogé said he registered a .103 grams percent blood alcohol content on a chemical test.
Harrison was latter booked into parish prison.
