The LSU football team stood its ground in the national polls after winning its season opener this past weekend.
The Tigers (1-0) are No. 9 in the latest USA Today Coaches Top 25 and No. 11 in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Both polls have the same top-five teams. Florida and Texas remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, while Southern California sits at No. 3 and Alabama at No. 4.
Penn State is No. 5 in the USA Today Poll, while Oklahoma State is No. 5 in the AP poll.
Five Southeastern Conference teams are featured in both polls — Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU and Georgia.
LSU beat Washington, 31-23, on Saturday to keep its position in the polls.
