The Dallas-based rock band Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights will perform at Chelsea’s Cafe on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The band was recently signed to Atlantic Records in New York and has performed with bands like Heart, Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Tyler said the band has played at Chelsea’s before and looks forward to bringing his blue-influenced sound to Baton Rouge.
“We bring it hard wherever we play,” Tyler said. “It’s cool when we do the smaller clubs because it’s a little more intimate. We can break it down and do a different style of set, but the core of our music is loud rock ‘n’ roll.”
Tyler said he and the band have a wide variety of fans and expects a good response from college-aged students.
“We’ve got a really eclectic group of fans, younger people and older people,” Tyler said. “In Dallas, where we’re from, we have a base of 18 to 35 who come see us.”
Tyler and the Northern Lights be performing with Virginia-based country rock band Sons of Bill. The show starts at 9 pm, and tickets cost $8.
