Chemistry professor Barry Dellinger received a $3.6 million grant to study hazardous waste disposal, courtesy of the federal stimulus package. The grant, which Dellinger considers his life-long project, will help fund the chemistry department’s studies by providing new equipment and supplies.Although the grant will affect mostly graduate students, undergraduate student will still reap the benefits of the grant, Dellinger said. The money also will help pay for the departments research assistants. The grant is beyond the scope of the University.
