The No. 11 LSU women’s golf team knocked off Georgia this morning in their opening round match in the championship bracket of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla.The fourth-seeded Lady Tigers now advance to the semifinals this afternoon against top-seeded Florida.Junior Megan McChrystal won 3 and 1 over Southeastern Conference champion Marta Silva Zamora and freshman Mary Michael Maggio had a 4 and 2 victory over Emilie Burger.Jacqueline Hedwall, who tied for third in the 36-hole stroke play yesterday, was the only Lady Tiger to lose, falling to Georgia’s Milena Savich 1 up.   —-Contact Sean Isabella at [email protected]
