HARAHAN, La. (AP) — Police in suburban New Orleans say they arrested Saints safety Usama Young following a traffic stop this week.
Harahan police chief Peter Dale said officers initially pulled Young over for speeding and only intended to give him a ticket, but had to arrest him because their records turned up another unresolved violation in Jefferson Parish.
Dale said Young was clocked at 55 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone at around 3:14 a.m. Monday.
Young drove about a mile before pulling over, but Dale said he was fully cooperative once he was stopped. He was cited for reckless driving and fleeing police.
Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said the team is aware of the arrest and is supporting Young’s efforts to get it resolve
