LSU junior John Peterson advanced to the match play round of the 2009 US Amateur Championship on Tuesday.
Peterson shot a 1-under par round of 69 and an 8-over score of 78 to make the field as the No. 53 seed.
Peterson will play Georgia Tech’s Cameron Tringale on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Hills Country Club.
