Saints halfbacks Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas both sat our of practice on Wednesday according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Thomas will miss the team’s third preseason game on Saturday in Oakland against the Raiders with a knee injury he sustained in last weekend’s game against the Houston Texans.
The team is more optimistic about Bush’s calf injury.
The former Southern California star is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game.
Reserve halfbacks Lynell Hamilton, Mike Bell, Herb Donaldson and P.J. Hill are expected to receive the bulk of the carries with the team’s two top backs potentially on the shelf.
