LSU junior outfielder Rachel Mitchell was selected to the 2009 Southeastern Conference Coaches’ Preseason All-SEC team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Mitchell was a 2008 All-SEC first team selection after hitting .374 with 51 RBI in 62 games as a sophomore.
The LaPorte, Texas native was the only LSU player on the 2009 preseason team. Florida, last season’s SEC champion, led all schools with five selections.
