The Super Bowl officiating crew was announced Wednesday, including LSU graduate Terry McAulay.
Sunday’s matchup between Arizona and Pittsburgh will be McAulay’s second Super Bowl. He also officiated the New England-Philadelphia game in 2005.
In his 11th season, McAulay has called nine playoff games, including this season’s Baltimore-Tennessee AFC divisional-round game.
McAulay earned the opportunity to referee another Super Bowl through the NFL’s evaluation system which allows the highest-rated officials at each position to earn the chance to call the title game. Referees must officiate games for five season and previous playoff experience before calling a Super Bowl.
