LSU will host five football recruits this weekend, according to Ken Trahan, president and general manager of Neworleans.com Sports.Defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore out of Destrehan High School will visit LSU this weekend after being a long-time Alabama commit.Sentimore was not initially offered a scholarship by LSU football coach Les Miles, but Miles has now given an offer to the Rivals.com four-star lineman, according to Trahan. LSU is Jarvis Jones’ (6-feet-3-inches, 226 pounds) final visit. The Rivals four-star defensive end/linebacker has already visited Georgia, Florida, USC and Texas.Safety Josh Johns (6-feet-2-inches, 210 pounds) is visiting as a verbal commitment to LSU. The Central High School Rivals three-star safety runs a 4.5 40-yard dash and bench presses 300 pounds.Barrett Bailey, University High School quarterback, is being recruited by LSU as a walk-on, but the 6-foot-4-inch Rivals three-star recruit has been offered a scholarship from Northwestern State University.Wide receiver DeAngelo Benton, a Rivals four-star recruit, committed to LSU in 2007 but played at Hargrave Military Academy after failing to be academically eligible.Trahan said Benton will be eligible this year, but the former Bastrop wide receiver is considering Auburn.
