Undrafted former LSU players Garrett Temple, Terry Martin and Chris Johnson were all offered positions on NBA summer league teams Friday.Temple will play in the NBA summer league in Vegas for the Houston Rockets’ team, Temple told The Daily Reveille on Friday.”It was a longshot that I would get drafted, but I had a chance to work out twice with the Rockets, and they’re giving me the opportunity to play on their summer league team,” Temple said. “They’re going to give me an opportunity to play point guard and fight for a starting spot at point guard on the summer league team, and I’ll get a chance to showcase my skills to them and the other 22 teams there in Vegas and try to get a chance to continue my basketball career.”Martin will also head to the Vegas league as a member of the New Orleans Hornets summer team, along with former LSU guard Marcus Thornton who was drafted Thursday night by the Miami Heat and then traded to the Hornets.Johnson will play for a combined Philadelphia 76ers/New Jersey Nets team in the Orlando summer league. All three players will join their respective teams in the next two weeks for mini-camps before opening summer league play.—-Contact The Daily Reveille sports staff at [email protected]
