After a historic season, the LSU gymnastics team finished second in the Super Six, as Oklahoma took home the title for a second straight season.
The Sooners posted a 198.3875 to win the championship.
The Tigers capped off their season with a score of 197.7375 after a slow start on the floor.
LSU followed the same rotation from its semifinal, starting with a bye, then floor and continuing through fault, bars and beam.
The slow start on floor would come back to haunt the Tigers, which is normally a dominant event for them. The Tigers finished with a score of 49.325. Senior Ashleigh Gnat and sophomore McKenna Kelley finished the event with back-to-back 9.90s.
LSU followed up its floor start with one of its lowest vault scores of the season, posting a 49.3000. No LSU gymnast scored higher than a 9.80 on the vault, an event in which the Tigers entered the meet ranked No. 1 in the nation.
After the bye rotation, the Tigers came out with a 49.3875 on bars. Though it is typically their lowest scoring event, this was second highest score of the meet.
A bright spot for LSU was its performance on beam.
LSU finished on with a 49.7250, which was a Super Six and no gymnast scored under a 9.90 in the event.
In her final routine at LSU, Gnat’s 9.95 on beam clinched the second place finish for the Tigers, as they overtook Florida’s score of 197.7000.
