More Than Noise is back for the summer! This one goes out to the punk community as Taxi and Bad Ramona play music from punk festivals with a cause.
ROCK AGAINST RACISM
Established in London in the late ’70s, Rock Against Racism joined forces with the Anti-Nazi League to combat the racist National Front. On April 30, RAR hosted Carnival in East London supported by The Ruts and X-Ray Spex, and headlined by The Clash. Soon RAR spread throughout the UK as bands like Sham 69, Stiff Little Fingers, Gang of Four, and Joy Division joined the cause.

ROCK TEGEN DE ROLLEN & LADYFEST
Rock tegen de Rollen festival was started in 1980 by six Dutch bands comprised of all women. Bands like The Nixe, Removers, and Pink, Plastic & Panties performed to combat gender disparity in the music business. Years later in Olympia, Washington, Ladyfest continues to battle for women’s equality. In 2000, the likes of Sleater-Kinney, Bratmobile, and Bobby Teens took the stage to carry the torch first lit by Rock Against Sexism.
