Can’t make it to New Orleans this Mardi Gras holiday? Here are some fun events happening around Baton Rouge during the month of February.
Feb 11- Mardi Gras Mambo: This popular race takes place in downtown Baton Rouge and offers participants the chance to run a 10K, a 15K, or a one-mile “Fun Run,” geared towards families with children. Feb 11- Krewe of Orion: This parade rolls through downtown Baton Rouge at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are also still available for purchase for their annual masquerade. For more information, visit kreweoforion.com
Feb 18- Krewe Mystique de la Capitale: The Krewe Mystique will be rolling downtown at 2 p.m. For more information and a view of the parade route, visit krewemystique.com
Feb 18- Krewe of Diversion Boat Parade: The Krewe of Diversion will sail at noon down the Diversion Canal and Amite River. The parade will be followed by a live auction with its proceeds benefiting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. For more information, visit the Facebook event page here.
Feb 19- Mystic Krewe of Mutts: Taking place in downtown Baton Rouge, bring your furry friend to the Mystic Krewe of Mutts for a full day of fun. Starting at 10 a.m., there will be food vendors, merchant booths and other activities. The parade starts at 2 p.m., followed by an after-party from 3 to 5p.m. Parade-goers can register their pet beforehand to march in the parade or on the day of. For more information, go to caaws.org
Feb 24- Krewe of Southdowns: Join the Krewe of Southdowns for its 30th anniversary. This parade will roll at 7 p.m. in the Southdowns neighborhood. For more information, go to southdowns.org
Feb 25- Fourth Annual Baton Rouge Mardi Gras Festival: From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., enjoy musical entertainment for free at the Baton Rouge Mardi Gras Festival. Feb 25- Spanish Town Parade: This popular and historic parade will be rolling through Spanish Town starting at 12 p.m.. For more information, go to spanishtownmardigras.com
