BATON ROUGE- The LSU Law Center was shut down after an electrical box burst into flames.
LSU officials say contractors were attempting to fix a lighting issue, when the electrical box exploded.
No LSU students were hurt in the blaze, but two contractors and one LSU facilities employee were transported to the Baton Rouge General burn unit for their injuries.
Eddie Harrington said he saw the victims seconds after the box exploded.
“One of them had the skin blown off his face. He didn’t have skin on his face anymore,” Harrington said.
“Another older gentlemen had no skin on his arms.”
LSU authorities evacuated the law center and temporarily closed down a section of Highland Road. Meanwhile two nearby churches, ECA, and the faculty building are without power.
The fire department said they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
