LSU freshman defender Chiara Ritchie-Williams has been awarded All-Southeastern ConferenceHonors with a second-team selection.
The selection was made by the coaches of the SEC who selected a total of 34 players to the two All-SEC teams at the end of this regular season.
Ritchie-Williams’ selection is just another testimony to LSU’s talented freshman corps and extends LSU’s streak to 14 straight seasons since 2004 where a player receives All-SEC honors.
Ritchie-Williams, the native of London, England, has had an immediate impact for the Tigers since coming to LSU starting all 18 matches of the season and contributing to a team goals allowed average of 1.17 for the season.
“Chiara fully deserves the honor and has laid the groundwork for a great career here at LSU,” said LSU head coach Brian Lee in a press release. “She headlines a freshman class that has all the signs to make a huge impact over the next several years – five starters, several others with potential and most importantly the kind of work ethic and character championship teams can be built around.”
