Happy Saturday, folks!
As Bossa Nova said, this is the jammiest jamboree of the jam CENTURY. This week’s Cheese featured saxophonist Kamasi Washington, drummer Robert Searight, Matisyahu, and Liquid Stranger for one hell of a show including a John Coltrane and Bob Marley cover.
We also brought out a fresh release from Phish – their 1994 performance that featured many shout outs to OJ Simpson while (in real time) he was on his low speed bronco chase.
Then we had mega instrumental jams from the Allman Brothers featuring Jerry Garcia, Bill Kreutzmann, and Bill Scaggs.
And to top it all off, we played a live performance from Baton Rouge’s very own jam band, Quarx. You can find a review from their latest show here: http://www.lsunow.com/klsu/show-review-quarx-at-varsity-theatre/article_a2af0dae-6f58-11e7-9721-97f666a63bca.html.
Catch Bossa Nova and I next weekend, same time and place, for one more Saturday night Jamboree.
