Former LSU Lady Tigers Seimone Augustus and Sylvia Fowles were among 30 players invited to participate in the training camp for the United States women’s basketball team.
The USA women’s basketball team camp will take place from September 30 to October 2.
The training camp is the first step to being selected for the United States Women’s National team for competitions over the next four years, including the 2018 FIBA Championship in Spain and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Augustus, a 2006 graduate, has participated in international competition since 2003 and has been on the national team since 2005.
Fowles has played for team USA since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, after graduating from LSU that year.
The two Lady Tigers have each won three Olympic gold medals for the United States, tied for the third most of any athlete at the training camp behind four time Olympic gold medalists Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi.
