Jamboree is back! This Saturday kicked off the semester with new material from Jerry Garcia, Phish, and Umphrey’s McGee.
We honored one of the founding fathers of jam, Jerry Garcia, while this month marked the 75th year since his birth and 22nd year since his death. GarciaLive Vol. 9 was released from the vaults late July.
As you might have heard me hype up a few weeks back with basically any chance I had, Phish recently made music history and played a thirteen night run at Madison Square Garden. You can find out some statistics below. This certain show was the cinnamon donut night and featured a parody of the Woodstock event in which they announced over the loud speaker warnings to “not eat the brown acid”; instead, Phish warned against eating the brown donuts passed around.
Fresh off the release, we heard “August” by Umphrey’s McGee (because duh), and a super new performance of theirs from Knoxville, TN that I may or may have not incorporated due to its name and the fact that school just started back. Nonetheless, complete shreddage.
If you have any requests, feel free to comment below! Once more, thanks for supporting college radio and making sure the music never stops.
