Nujac presents Slint on July 19.
In 1991, a band of teenagers in Louisville, Kentucky recorded a dark, melodic album filled with hardcore and punk influences. It had a sound unlike any other genre in mainstream or underground music scenes. The album, “Spiderland,” only sold 1,000 copies its first week, and the group disbanded shortly after.
Decades later, the six-song LP is now known as one of the most influential albums in rock music and is regarded as the first post-rock album. How could such an unknown record have such wide reaching influence? Find out on the Magical Mystery Tour as Nujac explores the world of “Spiderland” and its innovators, Slint.
