The LSU Women’s Basketball team rung in the new year with a 85 to 65 win against the Vanderbilt Commodores in SEC play on Sunday.
LSU junior guard Chloe Jackson lead the way for the Tigers in the first half scoring 11 points and ended the game with 25.
The Tigers out rebounded the Commodores 36 times with the help from sophomore forward Ayana Mitchell with eight rebounds.
LSU freshman center Faustine Aifuwa, had a breakout night in her first SEC game dominating in the paint with 14 points.
Throughout the game the score tied three times, but the Tigers fought harder to maintain and keep the lead.
The Tigers next SEC game will be away at Missouri and can be watched on SEC Network at 7 p.m.
