It was a Tiger showdown Thursday night as LSU men’s basketball took on the University of Memphis in the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. LSU snagged a 71-61 win.
LSU freshman guard Tremont Waters had a standout performance with 18 points and eight assists. Skylar Mays followed closely behind adding 14 points to the scoreboard.
Memphis had a slow second half. Memphis forward Kyvon Davenport said LSU’s high-energy offense left them fatigued.
Davenport scored 17 points with 11 rebounds. His performance was not enough to make up for his teams slump late in the game.
Looking forward, LSU will take on Kentucky next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the PMAC.
