LSU Police Department Maj. Helen Haire filed a lawsuit Thursday claiming she was not hired at Police Chief of that department because she is a female, according to reports from WAFB.
Haire, a 21-year-veteran of the of the department, claims in the suit Maj. Lawrence Rabalais was given the job despite not having a college degree as the position’s advertisement indicated.
Haire has both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree.
