LSU will honor Skip Bertman, its former athletic director and five-time national champion baseball coach, during “Skip Bertman Day” on Saturday in Alex Box Stadium.
Bertman will have his No. 15 jersey, which was retired by the University in 2001, unveiled on the grandstand fascia of the new Alex Box Stadium prior to the No. 5 Tigers’ 4 p.m. game against Georgia.
In addition to capturing five College World Series titles, Bertman guided the 1996 U.S. Olympic baseball team to a bronze medal in Atlanta.
All three of LSU’s weekend games against Georgia will be televised. Friday’s 7:30 p.m. game will be on ESPNU, Saturday’s 4 p.m. start will be televised on Fox Sports Net and Sunday’s noon finale can be seen on both CSS and CST.
