LSU senior outfielder Rachel Mitchell was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Softball Hitter of the Week on Tuesday.
Mitchell has notched hits in four of LSU’s past five games, including all three games of a sweep against Mississippi State. Mitchell boasted a .462 batting average with one home run and five RBIs during the week.
Mitchell also provided all three of the Tigers’ RBIs in a 4-3 loss to Alabama. Her two-run home run against the Crimson Tide moved her into a tie for second place on LSU’s all-time home run list.
Louisiana Tech junior pitcher Meghan Krieg was named the LSWA Hitter of the Week after posting a 3-0 record.
