Flagship Advocates, a new student organization designed to raise awareness about the budget crisis, made its first appearance at WhatNow Lsu’s campaign kick-off “The Event.”
The group was founded by Student Government President J Hudson and Vice President Dani Borel and is now accepting applications.
The student-run organization, whose “sole purpose is to advocate for the University,” will consist of a variety of students who will focus on a few selected topics year round, Borel said Thursday. The selected topic of this year will be budget cuts.
“The goal for the group is to get one student from every representative group in Louisiana,” Borel said. “One student, who on a weekly or monthly basis, can communicate with their representative.”
Applications are due Friday, Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m. in 132 Coates Hall. For more information, email [email protected].
