LSU junior cornerback Patrick Peterson has been named a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy.
The award, given to the best defensive player in college football, is handed out by the Charlotte Touchdown Club. The other finalists are Auburn defensive end Nick Fairley, Georgia linebacker Justin Houston and Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly.
The winner will be announced Dec. 6. Former LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey won the award in 2007.
