A turbulent weekend in college football has seen the LSU football team jump three spots to No. 6 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Polls.
The Tigers downed McNeese State, 32-10, in ugly fashion Saturday night, turning the ball over twice and passing for a total of 103 yards.
The move to No. 6 comes after a rash of upsets across the top 10, with former No. 4 Nebraska falling, 20-13 to now-No. 22 Texas.
The nation’s No. 1 also lost for the second straight week, as Ohio State was dominated, 31-18, by Wisconsin, who moves to No. 11.
The new No. 1 is Oregon, who was idle this weekend. Boise State follows at No. 2, with Oklahoma jumping to No. 3 from No. 6.
LSU’s next opponent, Auburn, jumped to No. 5 in both polls after an explosive 65-43 win against No. 21 Arkansas.
