LSU moved up four spots in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll to No. 12 on Sunday, one day after defeating Vanderbilt, 27-3, in its Southeastern Conference season opener.
The Tigers play their first home contest of the season Sept. 18 against Mississippi State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
Five other SEC teams are in the top 25 in the rankings. Alabama retained its No. 1 ranking, Florida dropped one spot to No. 7 and Auburn and South Carolina rose to No. 15 and No. 16, respectively, after the Tigers and Gamecocks won this weekend.
