Parking and tailgating are limited on Vanderbilt University’s campus, so the school has sent a message to LSU fans with suggestions for where to stay for the LSU-Vanderbilt game Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.
In a message sent by Vanderbilt to the LSU Athletic Department, LSU fans have been encouraged to tailgate at two nearby areas: the Harris-Hillman School and Fannie Mae Dees Park.
The Harris-Hillman School is a special needs school on the south side of the campus about three blocks from Vanderbilt Stadium. Vanderbilt’s message says Harris-Hillman usually hosts visiting fans, and that fans can call 615-298-8085 for more information.
Fannie Mae Dees Park is a block east of the Harris-Hillman School. The message says the area is an “excellent picnic setting,” but alcohol is prohibited, as well as parking on the grass. Fans cannot set up tents or grill on the property without a permit. Violators can be arrested by Nashville police.
There are parking garages on campus, and fans can also park on streets in the surrounding metro area as long as they don’t block residents’ and businesses’ driveways.
