Gov. Bobby Jindal has made five appointments to the Board of Regents, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office.
The new appointees are Scott Ballard of Covington, Joseph Wiley of Gonzales, Chris Gorman of Shreveport, Joe Farr of Monroe and Ed Antie of Lafayette.
The appointments are subject to senate confirmation.
Ballard is the co-president and chief financial officer of WOW Cafe & Wingery Franchising Account, chief executive officer of New Orleans Brew and chief executive officer of PJ’s Coffee. Ballard is appointed to represent the 1st Congressional District.
Wiley is the vice-president and general counsel for the Excel Group, a company specializing in construction and maintenance. Wiley will be re-appointed to representative the 3rd Congressional District.
Gorman is the executive vice president of Tango Transport, received his degree in computer information systems from the University of North Texas and attended the Harvard Executive MBA program in Boston. He will be appointed to represent the 4th Congressional District.
Farr is a co-owner of Thomas & Farr Agency Inc., the largest independent insurance agency in Northeast Louisiana. Farr is appointed to represent the 5th Congressional District.
Ed Antie founded Louisiana Communications, a support facility to Motorola Communications and Electronics. Antie later sold Louisiana Communications and established Central Telephone Corporation. Antie is appointed to represent the 7th Congressional District.
