LSU couldn’t get away with sluggish play this time.
After squeaking by Central Michigan on Saturday, the Tigers couldn’t finish the comeback Monday against Coastal Carolina, losing 79-68 in overtime at the PMAC.
Storm Warren nailed a short jumper with 9.8 seconds remaining in regulation to knot the score at 64 apiece. LSU had fallen behind by as much as six points in the second half.
It wasn’t to be. The Chanticleers raced past the Tigers in the overtime period, outscoring LSU 15-4.
Freshman guards Andre Stringer and Ralston Turner led the team in scoring with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Junior guard Aaron Dotson and junior forward Garrett Green each added nine points.
