Pokeworld Sushi looks to combine fine dining with the speed and convenience of a fast food restaurant in order to add to Baton Rouge’s growing fascination with the dish.
Poke has taken Baton Rouge by storm, and Pokeworld Sushi is the newest restaurant to join in on the crazy, and it’s right smack dab in the middle of Essen Lane. With this new development, poke is slowly spreading its influence all over the Baton Rouge area.
“My wife and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and ate Poke,” said owner Jíe Chen. “And it was just like sushi, basically sushi in a bowl, so that’s the type of food I wanted to make.”
The employees of Pokeworld Sushi said they want to create a place that busy people want to come and eat at. They want to provide the people of Baton Rouge with restaurant quality food that comes with the speed of service of a fast food restaurant. It is this dedication that truly puts them above other restaurants .
“We want to create a place of comfort, quiet and health for our patrons,” Chen said. “Poke is also like a salad bar. It’s very healthy for you.”
Speaking of healthy, Pokeworld Sushi has many healthy options for dinners. They have poke bowls for different seafood, such as eel and tuna bowls. They also have a plethora of sushi rolls and Chef’s Special Rolls, one of which is called the LSU Roll. Pokeworld Sushi also has hibachi, something that sets them apart from other poke places in the area.
Essen is the perfect location for Pokeworld Sushi to meet its goals for speedy service and customer satisfaction. With multiple office buildings and the hospital near it, its in the best place for busy people who all need something quick and easy for lunch.
“I chose this location because there are a lot of office buildings around here,” said Chen. “And they have lunch, and they only have a short time to eat lunch. So poke is something they can get easily and quickly. I think they only have maybe thirty minutes to eat, so that’s not a lot of time to get something to eat, and poke does not take long.”
Pokeworld Sushi is looking to incorporate things like “Happy Hour” into their business as Pokeworld Sushi grows. Hopefully, as Pokeworld Sushi remains open longer, they will continue to keep expanding the offerings of the restaurant. And this will ensure that Pokeworld Sushi remains in busy for a long time.
