The team exited the stage.
The President then went on to highlight his economic achievements, in contrast to, according to Trump, his Democratic opponents who are against the oil and natural gas industry.
8:30 p.m.
President Trump then brought the Little League Champions to the stage. Before they entered the stage, Trump told a heart-warming story about meeting a few of the players.
8:25 p.m. 
The President then brought John Kennedy and Bill Cassidy  to the stage. 
“I told you, Louisiana: Donald J. Trump loves Louisiana like the Devil loves sin,” Kennedy said. 
8:20 p.m. 
“John Bel Edwards will not protect your Second Amendment. If you want a governor who will protect your values, go out tomorrow and vote for Eddie or Ralph,” Trump said before bringing to the stage Eddie Rispone and Ralph Abraham  
“We need someone to do for Louisiana what President Trump has done for the USA,” Rispone said.
“Mr. President, I drafted a resolution to expel Nancy Pelosi from the House of Representatives,” Abraham said.
8:15 p.m.
“Louisiana cannot take more more years of a Democratic governor taking your money,” Trump said. ”Tomorrow you’ve got to vote John Bel Edwards out.”
Trump entailed how both Rispone and Abraham are both working on his agenda.
8:10 p.m. 
President Trump is now speaking about how he appreciates ‘the workers’ while John Bel Edwards, according to the President, is destroying the job market across the state.
8:05 p.m. 
The President has spoken a lot on “fake news” and how the media and the Democratic Party are allies. He fully endorsed FOX news and Sean Hannity.
“The fake news is always covering up for Joe Biden,” Trump said. “The Democrats and the media: they’re allies.” 
“The Times, The Washington Post are horrible,” Trump said. 
In reference to the whistleblower, Trump told the audience that the allegations are untrue and the Ukraine backs him. 
“I think they look at our country and they think we’re crazy,” Trump said.
7:55 p.m.
The President then went into talking about the, “rage-filled Democratic party that has gone insane,” Trump said. He is now targeting his Democratic competitors for not understanding the importance of agriculture.
“I love my farmers. They’re going to be bigger and better and more powerful,” Trump said. 
7:45 p.m. 
Trump then brought up ‘Veteran’s Choice’, a program that gives veterans health care. 
“They can go. They can see the doctor. They can get better,” Trump said. 
7:40 p.m.
“I’m glad to be back with hundreds of rock-ribbed patriots. That’s what we are. You stand strong for God, family and country,” President Trump said. 
Trump then went on to discuss the governor’s race Saturday. He urged the audience to vote Republican. 
“I want you to enjoy the game, [LSU vs. Florida] but I don’t want you to enjoy the game if you don’t vote first,” President Trump said. 
7:35 p.m.
President Trump was met with thunderous applause upon his entrance at 7:35 p.m.
7:20 p.m.
The Little League Campions entered the auditorium. The team flew to Lake Charles with President Trump.
7:15 p.m. 
President Trump was set to begin speaking at 7 p.m., but he has yet to enter the auditorium. His plane landed Lake Charles and he left the airport around 7 p.m. and is expected to begin shortly.
6:55 p.m.
US Chief of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan resigned just minutes before President Trump is set to begin the rally in Lake Charles. McAleenan was the fourth person to hold the seat in three years.
6:50 p.m.

Tomorrow is Louisiana’s election day. Current Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards is aiming for 50 percent of the vote to win outright. However, in the event he receives less, Edwards will head into a runoff election against one of his Republican competitors, Eddie Rispone or Ralph Abraham.

President Trump came to Lake Charles on the eve of election day to rally for both Republican candidates and encourage the Republican vote. 
6:40 p.m. 
The president’s rally in Lake Charles marks the third visit to Louisiana by a member of the Trump team within the last week.
The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., spoke in Lafayette’s Cajundome on Tuesday. Former Indiana Gov. and current Vice President Mike Pence addressed the state’s GOP in Kenner on Saturday.
6:20 p.m.
The Reveille took some time to interview rally attendees.
“The media has their own agenda and they want us to believe everything they put out,” Mary Adamczech, of Lake Charles, said. “Years ago when I was growing up, the news was neutral. Now, the media puts their own spin on things which really clouds everybody’s views.”
“I love President Trump,” Laura Leming, of College Station, Texas, said. “I love what he’s done through three years against every idiot out there who’s trying to bring him down. It’s crazy.”
6:00 p.m.
The Reveille talked to the Press Secretary of President Trump’s campaign, Kayleigh McEnany about Saturday’s governor’s race and Trump’s possible reelection. 

“John Bel Edwards, though he acts as if he’s a moderate, as I understand, he’s pro-life, but on a number of issues he parts from the President’s agenda. Those issues are tax increases– the largest in Louisiana’s history under John Bel Edwards– he’s an enemy of the oil and gas industry,” McEnany said. 

“We want an ally that’s going to be a complete ally. A true ally means electing one of the Republicans,” McEnany said.

McEnany believes President Trump’s message appeals to college students through economic success.

“Speaking as a millennial myself, my peers were shut out of the economy for a decade. They did everything right,” McEnany said. They went to school. They graduated. They went out to the job market and the jobs didn’t exist.”

“For the first time in years, you can graduate, and you can finally go out and find a job,” McEnany said. “You can start a life, so I think there’s been a rejuvenation of the economy, specifically for millennials.”

When asked about President Trump rhetoric, McEnany deemed him a “fighter”.

“He fights back when he’s attacked. He has been ruthlessly attacked by Democrats. He’s been ruthlessly attacked by the media,”McEnany said.
5:30 p.m. 
U.S. Sen. John Kennedy followed Cassidy and Landry. 
“Donald Trump loves Louisiana like the devil loves sin,” Kennedy said.

5:25 p.m.
U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy followed Landry on the stage. Cassidy applauded southwest Louisiana’s natural gas industry.
Cassidy went on to criticize Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden, asking the crowd a series of rhetorical questions about the Second Amendment, conservative judges and the economy.
The crowd responded with chants of “four more years.” 
5:15 p.m. 
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry took the stage to kickoff the rally.
“Isn’t our country better off under the great leadership under President Donald Trump?” Landry asked the raucous crowd. 
Landry subsequently attacked Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, “radical socialists” within the Democratic Party, “liberal” Gov. John Bel Edwards and members of the media.

5:00 p.m.
It’s two hours until the president is expected to address tonight’s crowd in Lake Charles’ James E. Sudduth Coliseum. 
Trump has taken to Twitter to criticize Edwards this week.
“Don’t be fooled, John Bel Edwards will NEVER be for us,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday.
Despite the tweets, Edwards said Trump has referred to him as his “favorite Democrat.”
4:30 p.m. 
The Reveille spoke to Louisiana Attorney General before President Trump arrived in Lake Charles. 
“I think it spotlights the fact that Louisiana means so much to the president,” Landry said. “How great is it that the President of the United States has come to Louisiana not jus once, but twice this year.”
In reference to Trump’s impact on Saturday’s election, Landry answer:
“What we’re hoping it means is come tomorrow evening we’re going to all be victorious and we’re going to have a runoff in the governor’s race. We’ll have one Republican candidate and hopefully that means we’ll have a Republican governor.”
4:15 p.m. 
U.S. President Donald Trump is set to wade into the 2019 Louisiana gubernatorial election Friday night in Lake Charles. The president is expected to show support for the Republican candidates for governor, businessman Eddie Rispone and Rep. Ralph Abraham.
Rispone and Abraham are set to square off against incumbent Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards in Saturday’s primary election. If all candidates fail to win at least 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held in November to determine who takes control of Governor’s Mansion.
Trump is expected to take the stage at 7 p.m.
