Dyteon Simpson was indicted for second-degree murder on Thursday for the shooting death of LSU basketball player Wayde Sims, according to a report by The Advocate.
Simpson, a 20-year-old from Baker, confessed to punching Sims’ friend and then shooting Sims the day after Sims’ death.
The shooting occurred Sept. 28 outside of a Subway restaurant at 668 Harding Boulevard near Southern’s A.W. Mumford Stadium, according to the release. Sims was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his wounds.
