LSU Wide Receiver Jonathan Giles is wearing number seven for the Tigers even though Giles hasn’t played a game for LSU.
“Just to be honored to wear number seven is a great honor,” Giles said about his new jersey number.
Giles said LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron was a main factor in the wide receiver coming to Baton Rouge when transferring to Texas Tech, even calling him at 6:30 in the morning.
“The energy and the passion he had through the phone just excited me. I watched LSU as a kid. Everyone watched LSU. Just getting that call was motivation.”
Giles loved Coach Orgeron’s energy on the phone even though he missed the 6:30 a.m. phone call.
“I missed the first call actually, and then he called me again. I answered. It was a great conversation.”
