LSU freshman guard Tremont Waters will test his draft stock after entering his name in the NBA early entrant list on Tuesday.
The freshman has not hired an agent and can still return to LSU if he pulls his name from the list by May 30. The news was first reported by Jeff Goodman of ESPN and Cody Worsham of TigerRag.
The early entrant rules allow a prospect to test the NBA waters as long as an agent isn’t hired or money is taken by the player.
Waters averaged a team high 15.9 points per game to go along with a freshman record six assists a contest.
Worsham also reported that NBA teams do have interest in Waters but developing his game by becoming more efficient would go a long way.
