LSU junior guard Brandon Sampson has hired an agent and will enter the NBA Draft a year early, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman first reported on Tuesday.
Sampson, a part of the 2015 signing class that included Ben Simmons and Antonio Blakeney, averaged 7.7 points per game his junior season while playing an average of 19 minutes per game.
Under first-year head coach Will Wade, Sampson saw a limited role with the Tigers following a sprained ankle he suffered three games into the season when the team was in Maui. Sampson missed a month of action and never found a consistent role with the team.
Sampson shot 47 percent from the field and 35 percent from three point range his junior year, both career highs.
