LSU baseball started off their season in typical Tiger fashion. After trailing 0-6 until the sixth inning, the Tigers completed a dramatic comeback to win the game 7-6.
LSU struggled at the beginning of the game making a few errors and not executing enough strikes, which Notre Dame played to their advantage.
However, a grand slam by junior Bryce Jordan at the bottom of the sixth inning fueled the Tigers’ hope.
Trailing 4-6 at the bottom of the eighth, sophomore Josh Smith knocked out a three-run home run to give LSU the lead.
Senior pitcher Austin Bain solidified the Tigers’ win by pitching three strikeouts in the ninth inning.
LSU will host Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 17th at 4 p.m. for the second game of the series.
