An FBI investigation into NCAA violations of money funneling including some the top programs in college basketball named former LSU players Tim Quarterman and Jarell Martin, according to documents obtained by Yahoo!.
The Yahoo! report detailed the bank records of former NBA agent Andy Miller and his agency, both of which are currently under federal investigation involving violation of NCAA amateurism rules.
Quarterman, a guard from 2013-16, was listed under the balance sheet titled “Loans to Players” dated Dec. 31, 2015. He was loaned $16,000 during his junior season, the report stated.
Quarterman currently plays for Agua Caliente Clippers of the NBA G League after spending one season playing for the Portland Trailblazers in the NBA.
Martin was listed to have been loaned $52,000, but he was already in the NBA at the time.
Both Quarterman and Martin played for former LSU coach Johnny Jones, who was fired in March 2017. The documents do not implicate whether Jones or LSU knew of the illegal benefits.
