Bill Busch has been hired as the safeties coach for the 2018 season, coach Ed Orgeron announced Thursday. 
Busch has spent the last two seasons as the defensive back coach and co-defensive coordinator at Rutgers University.
Prior to his time at Rutgers, served on the defensive staff at Ohio State for three seasons.
He coached the the University of Nebraska two different times, 1990-93 and 2004-07. Between those periods, Busch coached the secondary at Utah for three seasons and defensive backs at New Mexico State for four seasons. 
Busch also worked with LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda at Wisconsin, where he coached safeties and was later the associate head coach. 
“Bill is a consummate pro, who can scheme, coach technique and recruit. We are looking forward to getting him down here.” Aranda said in a press release. “On top of all of that, he is a great guy.”
Aranda is adding to a defensive staff that already consists of Corey Raymond coaching cornerbacks and Dennis Johnson coaching the defensive line. 
“It’s a huge honor and opportunity to coach at a place like LSU and in the Southeastern Conference,” Busch said. “Coach O is building something really special. It’s equally exciting to reunite with coach Aranda and work with coach Corey Raymond. I can’t wait to be a part of DBU.”
