Following a winning weekend on the road, the LSU volleyball team has picked up two SEC weekly honors.
Senior Lindsay Flory was named SEC Co-Setter of the Week and freshman Whitney Foreman was named SEC Freshman of the Week as of Monday.
These are the first career honors for both Flory and Foreman. This is the second time a LSU player has received the co-setter honor and the 28th time a player has received the freshman honor.
Flory became a power player in these past two games putting up 87 assists in just eight sets, averaging 10.88 assists per set. During the Alabama game Sunday, Flory dished 53 assist and 15 digs. This was her fifth double-double this season, sixth in her career.
Flory lead the team in one of their best offensive weekends this season hitting .352 percent along with two aces, 24 digs and two blocks.
Foreman also performed outstandingly this weekend putting down a career high of 13 kills with a .526 hitting percentage against Alabama. Five of the kills were in the fourth set, ultimately leading the Tigers to their first win in Tuscaloosa since 2011. She also pushed six blocks over the weekend.
This weekend left the Tigers at 9-14 overall and 4-8 in conference. LSU will play at home Wednesday against Ole Miss at 6 p.m.
