LSU junior quarterback Joe Burrow was named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Tigers’ 45-16 win over Ole Miss on Saturday.
This is Burrow’s second SEC player of the week honor in three weeks, the first coming after LSU’s win over Auburn.
Burrow set career highs in yards rushing (96), yards passing (292) and total offense (388) against the Rebels. He threw for three touchdowns, including a 65 yarder to sophomore receiver Justin Jefferson, and ran for another 35-yard touchdown. He finished 18-for-25 for his highest completion percentage of the season.
LSU (5-0, 2-0 SEC) has steadily improved each game. Against Ole Miss, the Tigers put up 45 points and 573 yards, both a season high.
