This week I chose La-Mulana, a game about tomb raiding and preventing the destruction of humanity. Originally released in Japan in 2005, the game was then re-released and remade from the ground up for Wii and eventually PC and Vita. It is an action platformer with very strong ties to the metroidvania style. You play as Lemeza, an adventurer tasked by his father to discover the secrets of La-Mulana, the birthplace of all civilization and home to the secret of life. Known for its brutal difficulty, La-Mulana is a rewarding experience to play through and can keep you captivated for hours, like it did me. The music is phenomenal and really helps build the excitement of discovering new areas and the tension of fighting horrific monstrosities.
